Bio

Since 1990, Sergei Sviatchenko has lived and worked in Viborg, Denmark, with his family. He holds a PhD from the Faculty of Architecture in Kyiv and defines himself as a Modernist, inside and out.

He draws inspiration from both his homeland, Ukraine, and his adopted country, Denmark, blending Eastern European Constructivist photography with Bauhaus aesthetics—infused with a touch of Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism, and rock music.

In a contemporary world where everything is overexposed, Sviatchenko stands out as an artist who reduces rather than adds. His LESS project, which is limited to a maximum of three elements, seeks to shift the way we perceive images.

He is also the founder of the online project Close Up and Private, which explores the relationship between fashion, clothing, and visual culture. His work has been featured in numerous magazines and industry publications.
