A creative printing and graphic arts laboratory

The space for productions

The Print Club is a place of creative production, it is a physical space within the Toolbox Coworking, a laboratory in which to work, print, and give life to new productions. It is the catalyst of a creative community in motion that promotes experimentation and the sharing of ideas, techniques and projects.

A fertile and dynamic environment

The ideal place to develop small or medium-run editorial projects, create prototypes and self-productions or enhance your portfolio, but also where you can get in touch with a community of companies and professionals in graphics, design and illustration, technique and craftsmanship. Inside Print Club you can print independently using the laboratory’s machinery or take advantage of consultancy with the staff.

It was born with the aim of creating connections in the territory by promoting the heritage of knowledge thanks to a transversal approach between the different supply chains involved.

A place full of ideas

The laboratory is a living space: made of ink, paper and the people who live there.

What does it mean to be creative?

For print clubbers it means frequenting a place dedicated to sharing, working, learning and socializing: very powerful instruments for starting from the basics and learning while having fun.

Technique and passion

In addition to providing the technical skills for the realization of the projects, the laboratory tutors also guide in the choice of the most suitable materials.

The techniques

Many, colorful and each with its own rhythm: it is really easy to immerse yourself in the creative universe of Print Club.

Risograph

It is a printing technique that uses inks with a particular composition, based on soy powder, which gives characteristics impossible to reproduce with other machines: it evokes vintage prints. It is very economical for single-color productions and is used in multiple colors by graphic designers and illustrators who want an artistic impact, preserving the value of craftsmanship. To learn how to use it you can make an appointment with the laboratory tutors or attend dedicated courses: learning to design correctly is simple but necessary, especially if you want to make the most of the characteristics of the technique. At the Print Club it is possible to print with a Riso Mz10170E twin-cylinder, a Riso SF 9390 and a Riso RZ970E. The colors available are: Black, Pink Fluo, Burgundy, Medium Blue, Orange, Yellow, Sunflower, Green, Cherry Red, Violet, Bubblegum Pink, Green Fluo, Light Teal, Aqua.

Screen Printing

It is extremely versatile because it can print on different supports: from fabric to paper, from wood to glass. Intriguing for its materiality, it is also used on large formats. At the Print Club water based inks are used to reduce the environmental impact. The beauty of this technique is both in the results and the creative process to obtain them. Everyone can learn, illustrators, graphic designers and enthusiasts. You can request an appointment with the tutors to learn and use the spaces independently to print the productions. Or you can ask for a quote to have them printed.

Engraving

Thanks to the collaboration with Stamperia d’Arte Busato it is possible to find inside the spaces everything needed to experiment with techniques such as aquatint, etching, drypoint, mezzotint, soft varnish to name the main ones. By appointment, thanks to the presence of specialized tutors, even beginners or curious people can have a practical experience; those who already have experience can make test prints. During the year the Print Club organizes in-depth courses on engraving techniques developed for students, enthusiasts and graphic art artists.

Cyanotype

It is a photographic printing process that produces prints characterized by the typical Prussian Blue color. Simple and immediate, it can have different and creative uses. Over time, courses have been held in the laboratory with Alice Serafino and Pica: with their help, a corner dedicated to this impalpable and poetic world has been set up. If you want to learn about and use cyanotype you can come to the laboratory and experiment with the tutors of the Print Club!

Bookbinding

Inside the laboratory it is possible to perfect editorial products with small binding machines such as metal staples, Singer sewing and paperback glue binding. The space is open to experimentation and the possibility of using Print Club to create your binding yourself.

Frame making

Handmade frames encapsulate the beauty of every image with a unique and personal touch. Every detail, from the craftsmanship of the wood to the choice of materials, reflects a meticulous attention to detail that makes them one of a kind. They are not just simple containers for your posters, but elements that enrich the space, adding warmth and character. Their beauty lies in the craftsmanship, dedication, and passion behind each creation, turning every frame into a small story waiting to be told.

The productions

Each project is taken care of in detail and made unique with original solutions, handmade insertions and a rich selection of materials: from the creation of prototypes to personalized solutions of below the line and editorial gadgets, from the creation of professional portfolios to the artistic production of art prints.

A non-exhaustive list of the types of products made by the Print Club: fanzines, artist’s books, self-productions, editorial products, posters (in various formats and techniques), screen and cyanotype fabric prints, limited editions of artistic prints in engraving, stationery (notebooks, to do lists, business cards, diaries) posters, calendars.

The paper

A vast range of paper from the most important paper mills allows you to obtain special results and to enoble each product with selections of original supports. In the laboratory you can touch the Fedrigoni and Favini sample book with your hands, making the best choice for the product’s result, under the guidance of a tutor, or order the desired paper.
