Bio
PICA is an artistic project born in 2013 from the collaboration between Carlos Lalvay Estrada, an artist, and Pietro Repetto, a specialist in antique photographic printing techniques. The project focuses on reviving one of the oldest photographic printing methods with a fresh and largely unexplored approach.
This vision gave rise to Laboratorino, the atelier and new home of PICA in Genoa. The space houses a newly equipped darkroom, along with an archive of prints, negatives, and original drawings by Carlos. It also serves as a venue for antique printing workshops and artist residencies.
