Paola is a book restorer and binder, working at Bottega Fagnola, an artisan workshop specializing in bookbinding, paper craftsmanship, and restoration, alongside her father Luciano and a team of highly experienced collaborators.
She began her training at the Centro del Bel Libro in Ascona (Switzerland) with renowned master bookbinders. She later earned a degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the ICRCPAL School of Advanced Training in Rome. Her expertise spans from restoration to artistic bookbinding, balancing tradition and innovation while exploring all aspects of books and paper.
She teaches at the SAF ICRCPAL restoration schools in Rome, the Foundation for the Conservation and Restoration of Book Heritage in Spoleto, the Polytechnic University of Turin, and IED Turin.
